Waking Sleeping Beauty

I wanted to make a quick post about a new documentary about Disney's animators titled, "Waking Sleeping Beauty". The trailer is 2 minutes and 14 seconds and it's definitely worth viewing. It comes out this Friday but I can't seem to find a theatre near me that's playing it. I'm hoping it will come out eventually or else I'll be really sad :( The trailer looks so good!

Acceptance/Interview Tips!

my 10 year old mickeymouse hat :b and my favorite mug!

Hey everyone! I got my news Wednesday March 17th, 2010 that I've been accepted to the Disneyland College Program as a photopass cast member! I'm sooo excited :)

appropriate ponyo gif! ;)

My recruiter, Annette actually called me on Tuesday right when I was walking back from class but I missed it! She told me to leave her a voicemail at what time I could be contacted at but it wasn't until the next day that she gave me the news :) I'm incredibly happy that it it didn't take long at all to get a response- less than a week!

I meant to post sooner really but I've been captivated by Pokemon HeartGold! Haha, yes. I love Disney and Pokemon too! :3 Anyway, I've been wanting to post my interview questions for some time now so I'll do it in this post! I'm also going to add a bunch of links of blogs that really helped me when I researched about the program! I'm so thankful because I truly believe that if you do your research everyone's helpful comments do help :)

Interview!

♥ I've read that the interviewers for the college program are nice and mine was no different! I thought she was really sweet and she definitely made me feel at ease since I was so nervous. (Oh yeah, I wanted to vomit waiting for the call but she was on time :) I just get really nervous!)

♥ We went over a bunch of my basic info first like if I was in college, my availability, etc. Then she told me there would be a few minutes of silence once she started asking questions because she was taking notes down which made me feel less nervous! Here are some of the questions she started off with:

Tell me about your previous work experience.
Why do you want to do the CP at this point in your life?

Then she asked me what my top roles were. I had chosen 1. Attractions, 2. Photopass and 3. Merchandise as my top three. We went over a bunch of roles that I had checked off on my web interview and she asked if I was still okay with all of them and that along with your top three roles you're still considered for the roles you checked off. Questions about my top three roles:

How do you feel about memorizing spiels?
Are you comfortable with speaking in front of large crowds?
Do you prefer working in a fast or slow paced environment?
Do you prefer to work indoors or outdoors?
Have you ever used computers for a job before?
Tell me about your photography experience
Can you handle large amounts of cash/experience with a register?
Give an example of when you provided excellent guest service

I also applied for housing so she also asked me the question, "Do you think there will be any challenges living with roomates and how do you think you'll handle that?" (Worded differently but that's the jist!) Then of course she asked me what my favorite ride and park was! I told her Indiana Jones and Toontown because Minnie Mouse's house is my dream house :3

♥ At the end she asked if I had any questions and I actually had a few, haha. It was mostly about her though and how long she was with Disney. I'm so glad I asked though because she told me that she was with Disney for 12 years and she still loves her job :) that really made me 10x more excited, haha :b

Tips!

    SMILE! ;)

RESEARCH! I did a lot of research about questions to look out for and what they want in a cast member and I truly felt prepared! I had a few notes with me which I wish I could do during all my interviews because of how nervous I get haha, but it definitely helped :)

If you guys have any questions or comments feel free to leave a comment here or on my formspring! :)

Introduction

Hello! I'm Jessica, a 20 year old college student living in the Bay Area, California. I just recently applied to the Disneyland College Program. Even though I'm probably jinxing myself by even making a blog, D: I decided to make one and include any information as possible for future applicants :) There's not a lot of information about the actual Disneyland College Program as opposed to the Disney World so I hope this blog is useful to some! Feel free to ask me any questions!
